How do I know if it's a skin tag?

A small tag of skin that may be squat (sessile) or on a stalk (a peduncle). Skin tags commonly occur on the eyelids, neck, armpits, upper chest, and groin. This tiny benign tumour of the skin usually causes no symptoms unless it is repeatedly irritated, for example, by a collar.

Do skin tags get bigger?

First, the good news: Skin tags are benign and cause no symptoms. Skin tags are small, usually measured in millimetres, but can grow to a half-inch in length. A skin tag may start to develop without you're even noticing. Once formed, they typically don't get any bigger.

Are skin tags a sign of cancer?

Skin tags are harmless. They're not cancerous and they don't increase the risk of any kind of cancer. Skin tags are usually oval flaps of tissue that hang from the skin on a tiny stalk. They may appear alone or in a group.

Do I need to see a Doctor?
