Is Dermaplaning just shaving?
Dermaplaning, unlike traditional shaving, uses a smaller blade to slough off dead skin cells in addition to removing wispy facial hair, so skin is more even in tone and texture.
Dermaplaning is a physical exfoliation method that requires the use of a sterile surgical scalpel to gently shave the top layer of the skin, the stratum corneum, dead skin layer, and vellus hair, peach fuzz.
Your hair will grow back exactly the same colour and thickness as it was previously. It's simply that after Dermaplaning because you are removing the dead layer of skin and vellus hair, your skin will appear much brighter than you've experienced in the past.
Does the hair grow back thicker or darker or cause stubble?
Contrary to what you've been told, Dermaplaning will not make your hair grow back thicker or darker. Once your hair begins to grow back, it might feel different because the hair was cut straight across, but it's actually the same texture as it was before and it will grow at the same speed.
